Sliding Head Machining

NC Precision Ltd is one of the UK’s leading subcontract CNC Sliding Head machining companies. Sticking to our roots by using only Cincom controlled Citizen CNC Sliding Head technology we have built up an excellent reputation for the manufacture and supply of the highest quality turned parts.

We have made substantial investment in our people, equipment, systems and technology.  Our Citizen machines offer a single set up solution to even the most complex parts which helps reduce cost and improve production times.

These machines are able to perform simultaneous multi-task processing e.g. Turning, Drilling, Boring, Screw-Cutting, Grooving, Milling, Broaching, Cross Drilling and Tapping. All of our machines are fitted with IEMCA magazine bar feeds which facilitates non-stop production.

Sliding Head Turning enables the machining of the secondary process on the rear spindle whilst the next component is being made on the main spindle. This can often result in cycle times being half what they would have been on a traditional Fixed Head CNC machine.

Sliding Head Machinery

The M16 is a flexible thirteen axis CNC sliding head twin spindle lathe suited to small, medium and high volume production up to 16mm in diameter. Featuring a programmable C axis with live tooling running simultaneously on both spindles enabling the efficient machining of complex components in short cycle times.

The M32 is a flexible fourteen axis CNC sliding head twin spindle lathe suited to small, medium and high volume production up to 35mm in diameter. Featuring a programmable C axis with live tooling running simultaneously on both spindles enabling the efficient machining of complex components in short cycle times. This machine is also fitted with high pressure coolant delivery and a robotic parts unloader.

The L20 is a flexible seven axis CNC sliding head twin spindle lathe suited to the small, medium and high volume production of multi featured parts up to 22.2mm in diameter. It is an extremely versatile machine and is capable of being setup in a very short period of time.

The C16 is a flexible seven axis CNC sliding head twin-spindle lathe suited to the small, medium and high volume production of multi featured parts up to 16mm in diameter. Three tools are able to cut simultaneously therefore cost savings can be made where price per part is an issue. The barfeed attached to this machine has an interchangeable small channel set making it particularly suitable for the manufacture of very small components.

The Citizen L20 Type XII is a top of the range machine featuring B and Y-axis control on both the main and sub spindles. Driven tools feature B-axis operation, allowing the machining of angled features and contouring with simultaneous 4-axis control. This machine also has the ability to switch between guide bush and guide bushless operation enabling parts up to 25.4mm Dia to be machined. Due to it’s speed of operation it is particularly well suited to longer batch runs where cycle time is more critical.
